The City of Lund is situated in the south of Sweden, close to Malmö and the Danish capital Copenhagen. Around 80,000 lives in the city of Lund. One of the oldest cities in Sweden, Lund today functions as a university town. The University of Lund is the largest university in Scandinavia and one third of the population in Lund city consists of students. In 1998 Lund developed the first sustainable urban mobility plan, called “LundaMaTs.” Since then it have been revised twice, and is now a working strategy aiming at 2030. LundaMaTs has become a well-known brand for Swedish cities and traffic planners over the years, and Lund’s work with sustainable transportation has been the focus of international interest.
