What we are doing

DEFINITE-CCRI is an innovative project funded by the European Union to support the transition towards a circular economy in European cities and regions. Launched in 2022, the project provides project development assistance and guidance to circular economy project developers to increase the likelihood of success in attracting investment. By selecting and assisting projects with high potential for success, DEFINITE-CCRI will achieve transformational impacts for Europe's cities and regions, making them more circular and sustainable. DEFINITE-CCRI aims to contribute to the implementation of the European Green Deal, the Circular Economy Action Plan and the bioeconomy strategy, balancing economic, social, and environmental goals.

How we are tracking

● Completion and appraisal of risk-profiles and duediligence information packages for each of 4 project outlines ● No. of investment contracts signed - Target: 4 ● Total volume of investment triggered - Target: > 20 million Euro 2 years following project completion:  6-8 further projects to receive full deal engine support ● 6 innovation projects in the pipeline supported in developing project outlines and completing TIP and FIB Assessments ● Capacity building for >= 300 participants delivered 2 years following project completion: ● 30%-50 of the further projects to receive full deal engine support will be of a highly-innovative nature 10 investors and finance partners engaged through MoUs or other formal agreements to support ● 15 city projects engaged in project outline submission ● 30 partners engaged in community of practice 2 years following project completion: ● 5-10 further agreements with investors ● 5-10 further cities submitting proposals ● 15-30 additional partners engaged in the CoP ● Successful launch and use of web portal ● Successful Launch of Project Evaluation Tool ● Partner agreement on long-term operation reached ● Increased circular material use rate ● Reduced waste generation ● Waste diverted from landfill ● Stakeholders involved in the project ● Integration project results CCRI service portfolio ● Net reduction in GHG emissions ● No. of Circular Jobs ● Reduced raw material dependency ● No. of new business models established

What we are achieving

- Build and operate a deal engine mechanism to increase funding chances for circular economy projects. - Close the gap between circular economy projects and investors and finance partners. - Mitigate risk and increase the investment readiness of innovative circularity projects for greater investment viability. - Launch four circular economy projects with up to €20 million investment each.
