México City Government

About
Mexico City is located in the center of Mexico. With over 21.2 million people, it is the largest metropolitan area in the Western hemisphere. It is also the third largest and the eighth richest agglomeration in the world, generating around 34% of Mexico's GDP. By instituting policies such as car-free days and encouraging the use of bicycles, Mexico City has successfully reduced its air pollution by more than half since 1991 and become a model for urban air quality improvement. It is currently in the process of executing its 15-year-long "Green Plan," which works towards goals such as encouraging environmental awareness among citizens, increasing the efficiency of its water infrastructure, and continuing to strive for more eco-friendly transportation structures.
