ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability is a global network of more than 2500 local and regional governments committed to sustainable urban development. Active in 125+ countries, we influence sustainability policy and drive local action for low emission, nature-based, equitable, resilient and circular development. Our Members and team of experts work together through peer exchange, partnerships and capacity building to create systemic change for urban sustainability.

Our networkKunming, China
Known as the “Spring City” and “Flower City”, Kunming has long been active in sustainability and was the first Chinese city to join the Edinburgh process for a Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework. Kunming was also the host city of the 15th Conference of the Parties (COP15) Part I and one of the major partners of the 7th Summit for Subnational Governments & Cities. The city has recently strengthened its sustainability efforts by joining ICLEI and its CitiesWithNature initiative.
