About

Seoul is South Korea´s capital and the largest city proper in the OECD world, with over 10 million inhabitants. Seoul is also the world's fourth largest metropolitan economy, and exerts major economic and technological influence at a global level. The city has made great efforts in recent years to become the world's environmental capital. This includes several objectives such as aiming for total recycling in the Seoul Metropolitan area. Ongoing international collaborations in the field os sustainable development, as well as a good cooperation with the private sector and incentives for citizen participation, sustain these efforts. The government also started the "One less Nuclear Power Plant" Initiative that aims to establish enough renewable energy sources in the city that equal the total capacity of one nuclear power plant.
