Fifteen of the 26 leaders shortlisted for the 2023 World Mayor Prize and Awards hail from ICLEI Member cities and towns. This year, the prize will be awarded to mayors who have promoted cooperation between towns and cities at home and across borders.
Whether it is for a small town with only 700 residents or a bustling metropolis with over 15 million inhabitants, residents have until October to send their votes or support for the 2023 World Mayor Prize and Awards. This year’s theme is to honor mayors who have fostered friendship, partnership, and cooperation among towns and cities, both locally and internationally. While votes are considered in the competition judgment, the contest also values support statements. This levels the playing field for communities of all sizes.
