Locally led adaptation is essential to respond effectively to climate change. While there is a lot of evidence and research existing on climate resilience, there is a distinct lack of focus on integrating aspects of social inclusion and nature based solutions in locally led adaptation initiatives.

In the current phase (Phase III), over five years (2022-27), CDKN will focus on advancing equitable, financed and ecosystem-based action on climate change. CDKN is co-funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands and Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC) through the Step Change Initiative, which aims to accelerate equitable and inclusive locally-led adaptation.
