Consumption and production drive economic and social progress yet they exert increasing pressure on our natural environment and resources. Extraction and exploitation of natural resources to meet current lifestyles resulted in climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution, among others. The United Nations (UN) has stated that “should the global population reach 9.6 billion by 2050, the equivalent of almost three planets could be required to provide the natural resources needed to sustain current lifestyles”. Hence, the need to shift to more sustainable practices and solutions to avoid worsening environmental and social problems. The webinar supports the newly enacted Philippine law, the Extended Producer Responsibility Act of 2022 or Republic Act 11898, the first amendment to the Solid Waste Management Act of 2000
