ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability is a global network working with more than 2,500 local and regional governments committed to sustainable urban development.
The Long Beach Climate Action Plan (LB CAP), approved by the City Council on August 16, 2022, establishes climate mitigation goals for the city to meet. Having such a plan provides Long Beach with emissions reduction targets it must meet. To do so, the City intends to update its community-wide greenhouse gas inventory.

Read more Read lessICLEI is providing the City of Long Beach with a 2021 community-wide inventory and BAU forecast to 2030. ICLEI is providing the City with data request forms to ease the burden of data collection on the community, and is utilizing the ClearPath Climate Planner tool to calculate the city’s community and municipal emissions. Doing so will assist Long Beach as it works towards meeting its LB CAP mitigation goals.
