About
The World Urban Forum (WUF) is the world’s premier conference on urban issues, convened by UN-Habitat. Since its inception in 2001, WUF has provided a platform for diverse voices—policymakers, local and regional governments, urban planners, and citizens—to come together and discuss pressing urban challenges. It emphasizes the role of sustainable urban development in achieving global goals, particularly SDG 11 on sustainable cities and communities. Local and regional governments can share experiences, showcase innovations, and influence global urban development agendas.
WUF12
This year’s WUF12, held in Cairo, Egypt, focuses on “Sustainable Urban Future through Inclusive and Effective Multilateralism.” The forum addresses key themes such as climate action, affordable housing, and urban resilience, emphasizing the need for local and regional governments to be at the forefront of these efforts.
