By understanding values regarding nature held by the citizens in your city, you can better respond to the needs and the values of your citizens in your governance, planning and investments. This guide will help you: 1. understand the diverse values of nature, 2. measure and make visible the values of nature, 3. leverage the diverse values of nature for transformative change, and 4. embed the values of nature in decision-making. It is directly derived from the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) Methodological Assessment Report on the Diverse Values and Valuation of Nature, and tailored to suit a city-context perspective.
