Cities face critical mobility challenges, including traffic congestion, air pollution, and lack of equitable access to transportation systems. These issues affect people’s quality of life, generate high economic costs, and contribute to climate change. In addition, urban planning in many regions has prioritized cars instead of promoting spaces for pedestrians, cyclists, and public transportation, resulting in less inclusive, safe, and healthy cities.

These sessions featured dynamic methodologies that included interactive presentations, international case studies and practical activities such as urban analysis and solution design exercises. The workshops fostered the exchange of ideas among participants, promoting the integration of sustainable mobility principles in urban planning and the adoption of concepts such as 15-Minute Cities and 8-80 Cities. As a result, local capacities were strengthened to develop projects that put people first, reduce carbon emissions and promote more inclusive and resilient cities.
