What we did
Global food security is a priority issue for the United Nations, and ICLEI addresses this global problem in a cross-cutting manner, in which, although the social aspect is important, different thematic areas can be connected to try to solve a common problem from different perspectives. Local governments play an important role in developing appropriate policies to seek efficient food systems within communities to meet the needs of the population.

What we achieved
ICLEI develops training courses tailored to cities, seeking to identify the main problems facing the city, in this case, food systems, as well as to share good practices around the region and the world, giving a comprehensive and holistic approach to alternatives and solutions to the different urban challenges that are integrated. A contextualized training methodology is followed, based on the different challenges that each city faces, seeking citizen participation as the main objective. ICLEI manages an initiative with a focus on people, landscape and climate.
