What we are achieving
The 3rd ICLEI Brazil Amazon Meeting was held from March 19th to 21st in Boa Vista, Roraima, where “Education for Sustainability” was the main theme of the discussions.
The 3rd ICLEI Brazil National Meeting was hosted in Belém from April 16th to 18th. Biodiversity was the central theme in the session "Strategies for Adaptation, Resilience, and Urban Conservation towards the Climate and Biodiversity COPs," which brought together leaders and representatives from Colombian local governments and Belém. Additionally, two workshops were promoted as part of the GAP Fund SUP Project, focusing on the implementation of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) projects and water management. One workshop emphasized civil society engagement, while the other focused on the implementation of public-private partnerships.
At the 3rd ICLEI Brazil Northeast Regional Meeting, held from May 27th to 29th in Teresina, Piauí, thematic sessions included topics such as "Financing Instruments for Biodiversity and Local Climate Action, From COP 16 to COP 30" and "Achieving Global Biodiversity and Climate Targets in Northeastern Cities."
The organization of these events, with a focus on the protection and promotion of biodiversity and a nature-positive economy, has proven to be an important advocacy strategy aligned with local demands and potentials.
