What we did
The Chicamocha Canyon is one of the most representative territories of the department of Santander, for this reason, it has been the reason for eight years of international cooperation between the countries of France and Colombia in the areas of: tourism, local development, education for peace and international citizenship and institutional exchanges. In the path to promote the sustainable development of this territory, the allies in the cooperation process have formulated a new initiative called, "Chicamocha in Common: Initiating a Shared Governance Approach in the Chicamocha Canyon." This project has as its scope four municipalities located in the Chicamocha Canyon, which are: Zapatoca, Aratoca, Barichara and Los Santos. The pilot project aims to strengthen cooperation between municipalities to develop local projects aimed at improving water management and sustainable tourism, through a broad coalition of French and Colombian actors (public and private) who share their experiences and knowledge.
