Yeoncheon County promotes sustainable regional development by integrating the management of its UNESCO-designated sites, including the Imjin River Biosphere Reserve and Hantangang UNESCO Global Geopark. Through conservation-based tourism, community education, biodiversity conservation, climate action, and domestic and international partnerships, Yeoncheon is developing an eco-peace city model that balances nature conservation with regional development.
