What we achieved

A group of 22 Australian local governments participated in the ICLEI Oceania - Swinburne University needs assessment research interviews in 2021. The results were used to design a tailored package of resources and activities, targetting the highest needs of Australian local governments. The CWN Academy Australia was launched in 2023 with an initial cohort of 10 cities. Resources were produced for 3 local government audiences - community, City Leaders, council practitioners. In 2024 the Academy is entering the second phase which will entail recruiting additional cities and expanding the resources, in partnership with several universities.
