What we are doing

A Nature Positive Economy -NPE- means that the net results of all economic activities combined, leads to an absolute increase in nature to the point of full recovery. The NPE contributes to achieving the UN SDGs to enhance societal wellbeing and prosperity, while protecting and regenerating nature.

Nature-positive actions support SDGs, Global Biodiversity Framework, Paris Agreement For the NPE to improve social and ecological well-being, several conditions should be considered as a minimum: ‘Net’ nature positive entails certain aspects of nature loss will occur. More inclusive methods needed for democratic views on which aspects of nature loss could be acceptable to society, e.g. deliberative democracy in Ireland’s Citizens’ Assembly on climate change and on biodiversity loss Explore economic indicators beyond GDP that incorporate unaccounted social and ecological values and costs. Apply best practice guidelines for human rights
