The ICLEI World Congress is needed to address sustainable urban development and equitable adaptation to local and regional challenges. By providing a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and strategic discussions, the Congress aims to foster collective action that can help local and regional governments to respond effectively to global challenges. The ICLEI World Congress impacts local and regional governments by creating opportunities for knowledge sharing, capacity building, policy and action alignment, networking, collaboration, and being exposed to new ideas and policies that leaders can take back home. Members at the ICLEI World Congress are able to showcase their initiatives and policies, engage in discussions, and learn (and eventually adapt) best practices.
