What we did

UNDRR launched the new MCR 2030 program early in 2021. The Pacific Office of UNDRR then engaged ICLEI Oceania to review progress of the earlier MR Campaign in Pacific Islands and to make recommendations on mobilisation of the new MCR2030 across the Pacific region.

ICLEI Oceania: Conducted a desktop review of the outputs and outcomes of the earlier DRR workshops conducted by ICLEI and UNDRR in Fiji, Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands Interviewed informants in the towns and cities of these islands, and also of other towns which had committed independently to MCR Researched relevant recent studies and reports Ascertained the level of interest of informants in the new MCR2030 Developed a high-level plan for mobilising MCR2030, with consideration of linkages to GCoM Oceania and the role of ICLEI Oceania
