Mountain Village has existing community GHG inventories for 2019 and 2020, and an existing
CAP, projected to reduce emissions by 85% in 2050 from a 2010 baseline. The existing inventory contains very small transportation emissions because only transportation within the community boundary is considered. The Town wishes to update this to include transboundary emissions from commuting and possibly from tourist travel to the town. Mountain Village wanted an updated GHGI, BAU Forecast, Wedge Analysis, and an accompanying memo.

What we are achieving
Through the ClearPath Climate Planner Tool, ICLEI USA developed a business-as-usual forecast and community wide wedge analysis to inform the city of the emission reductions and cost-benefit of various proposed emission reduction strategies. This included a review of future policy scenarios, testing of various forecasts and emission reduction targets, modeling of reduction mitigation measures, and the creation of a memo and slideshow to communicate results.
