What we achieved
The primary objectives of IberATLAS include creating a detailed climate atlas that maps the current and projected climatic conditions of major Ibero-American cities, offering georeferenced data on temperature, precipitation, extreme weather events, and other relevant climate indicators. This initiative seeks to assist cities in developing adaptation and mitigation plans for climate change by utilizing precise and up-to-date data, thereby promoting the integration of climate policies into urban development plans.
Additionally, IberATLAS aims to provide training and resources for municipal technicians and managers, empowering them to effectively use the atlas. It facilitates the sharing of best practices and experiences among participating cities, establishing mechanisms for continuous monitoring of climatic conditions and evaluating the effectiveness of implemented policies. Feedback and data are used to adjust and improve adaptation and mitigation strategies.
