Biodiversity Action Plan – Metropolitan Region of Bucaramanga

As the implementer in Colombia of the INTERACT-Bio project, ICLEI Colombia led and coordinated the development of the first Local Biodiversity Biodiversity Action Plan (LBSAP) for the Bucaramanga metropolitan area, comprised of four municipalities: Bucaramanga, Floridablanca, Girón and Piedecuesta. In collaboration with the Alexander von Humboldt Institute and the Bucaramanga Metropolitan Area (AMB) as an entity, this instrument was formulated with the purpose of outlining a roadmap for the adequate management of biodiversity and ecosystem services in the urban and peri-urban area of the AMB, taking into account the socioeconomic, environmental and regulatory complexity of the territory.
