This knowledge product describes West Nusa Tenggara’s (WNT) progress in renewable energy (RE), achieving 22.43% RE in 2023, surpassing national targets. Through the 100% Renewable Cities and Regions Roadmap project with ICLEI Indonesia, WNT aims for 100% RE by 2050, focusing on solar PV and wind energy. Key policies, such as Governor Regulation No. 13/2024 on Green Energy Development, support its Net Zero Emission (NZE) 2050 goal. Addressing challenges like limited local authority, capacity gaps, and regulatory planning issues is essential to achieving WNT’s vision of sustainable and independent energy.
