About

Nakuru lies in Kenya's Great Rift Valley, 150 km northwest of Nairobi. It is the country's fourth largest city, with just under 300,000 inhabitants. Nakuru is supported mainly by its manufacturing and agricultural economy. Much of the land surrounding the city is used for agriculture. It is also an important educational center, with two universities. Sustainable urban development has been a priority for Nakuru, with various water and sanitation projects being carried out in recent years.
