It is with profound sadness that ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability announces the passing of our dear colleague Edgar Iván Arriaga García (12 April 1994 – 2 May 2025)
Iván served as Programme and Project Officer at the ICLEI Mexico, Central America & Caribbean Secretariat. While working in our organization, he demonstrated not only unwavering professional dedication but also deep human warmth, generosity, and a sincere passion for driving projects that create meaningful change for our planet.
His joy and energy touched everyone who had the privilege of working with him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on through the work he championed with such heart and conviction.
Our thoughts are with his family and with our colleagues across Latin America as they navigate this difficult time.
