In the lead-up to the ICLEI World Congress 2024 in São Paulo, from 18-21 June, we invite fellow Mayors in our network to engage at the Malmö Commitment Tour. This webinar series explores how social equity aids local and regional governments in addressing sustainability challenges, ensuring no one is left behind. It also sets the stage for further discussions in Brazil, inviting more cities to join this initiative.
Launched during the ICLEI World Congress 2021-2022 in Malmö, Sweden, the Malmö Commitment on Inclusive and Equitable Communities is a pledge to action that embeds social equity at the core of local sustainable development. It empowers local and regional leaders to foster safe, vibrant cities, towns, regions, and communities where everyone can live, work, and thrive.
Led by Katrin Stjernfeldt Jammeh, First Vice President of ICLEI, Mayor of Malmö, and co-founder of the Malmö Commitment, and featuring distinguished speakers from our network, the Tour comprises five webinars from March to May, each focusing on a specific region.
Our kickoff webinar focused on Africa; you can watch the recording here. Join us to collaborate on creating inclusive and equitable cities and regions worldwide.
Next stops in May:
Southeast Asia and North America.
