Green bonds: A resource for African cities – 28 January

EN Video

This webinar, part of our Green Finance Innovation webinar series, focuses on the potential of green bonds to unlock capital for sustainability investments in African cities, which face significant climate vulnerabilities. We discuss the challenges local governments encounter, such as limited creditworthiness and institutional barriers, and explore strategies to stimulate local demand for green bonds. Featuring a case study from Cape Town, South Africa, and the experience from the Africa Development Bank, we showcase how these challenges have been successfully overcome, offering insights into how these examples can be adapted, replicated, and scaled across the continent to foster climate resilience and sustainable development.

Held on  28 January 2025 at 13:00 UTC+1. Watch the recording here.
