What we did
The city administration, which is the closest to its citizens, engages in activities that prioritize the needs of its residents. While possessing knowledge in building a circular economy and transitioning to a 1.5-degree lifestyle, it lacks opportunities to share this expertise with overseas cities. This project aims to provide a platform for municipalities seeking to exchange experiences with overseas counterparts, allowing them to share best practices and integrate them into their own policies. With the support of a grant from the Scandinavia-Japan Sasagawa Foundation, the project also intends to foster student exchanges between Turku, Finland, and cities in Japan, all dedicated to embracing the 1.5-degree lifestyle. These exchanges will empower students to bring back and apply best practices from overseas in their respective hometowns, thus enhancing the project's overall impact.
