Son Tay
Son Tay is the economic, cultural and social center of Hanoi’s North-West area. It is known as a historical town and is a center for eco-tourism in the city. Because of its rapid development, Son Tay now faces problems brought by pollution and infrastructure overload. In 2016, Son Tay’s waste treatment facility already reached its full capacity and continued dumping resulted in a garbage landslide. In this time of rapid industrialization and modernization in Vietnam, the local government of Son Tay is committed to environment protection and is working through Ambitious City Promises to achieve a more sustainable development trajectory.
