What we did
The Jeonju City is the city with a large number of old buildings and a high proportion of carbon emissions from its building inventory. To realize a low-carbon city, Jeonju city hosted a conference to discuss cases of carbon reduction in the building sector. In addition, the conference was held as an international conference to discuss a more multifaceted approach, and was open to public to raise the importance of carbon neutrality for all residents of the city.

What we achieved
The Korea office participated as a key organization to contribute to the international exchange and discussion of carbon neutrality practices in Jeonju, in line with the ICLEI vision of realizing a low-carbon city. In particular, the ICLEI Korea office supported organizing a session, titled 'Energy transition with local communities' and inviting speakers to introduce a more diverse range of cases by sharing best practices from Europe, with support from the ICLEI European secretariat.
