How we are tracking
Launched in 2020, the ICLEI Action Fund 1.0 encompasses six projects spread across six European cities. With grants of 2,5 million euros, the fund supported initiatives led by academic institutions and non-governmental organisations dedicated to environmental and climate action at the grassroots level.

What we are achieving
1. ICLEI will support the development of data collection for environmental and climate action projects throughout Europe
2. ICLEI will design selection criteria and implement the selection process, prepare and execute communications strategy, issue a call for proposals and conduct a pre-selection process, identify potential subgrantees in each country, conduct basic due diligence, and make subgrants, conduct general project management, assist subgrantees with capacity building support, lead on subgrantee reporting back to Tides and Google.org, facilitate payment and management of grants.
3. The pilot is expected to provide a basis for a dialogue around challenges and opportunities of data for urban sustainability action in the fields of sustainable mobility, buildings sustainability, solar energy development and air pollution management.
