What we are doing
RethinkAction supports the objectives of the EU Green Deal. Land use planning is identified as critical in reaching long-term climate mitigation objectives. Land resources are also fundamental to reach climate objectives.
RethinkAction puts citizens and decision-makers at the heart of climate action by developing a cross-sectoral planning decision-making latform to foster climate action across Europe. It focuses on people and their ability to create change. The platform is co-created with end-users across the six case study regions, including local governments.
Through this activity, local governments are actively contributing to the development of a digital platform that will enable them to engage with stakeholders and ideate and implement land use and behavioural change.

What we are achieving
ICLEI World Secretariat are the End-User Community Manager for the project and are responsible for coordinating and managing growth and engagement with a community of stakeholders from case study regions and eventually early replicators (the early replicator component is led by the ICLEI European Secretariat). Six workshops will be delivered in the six case study regions throughout the project (except for the first two which were delivered online due to the global pandemic).
To do this, ICLEI actively engages with the technical project partners who are developing the platform and the case study leaders who will implement the workshops on the ground to grow the end-user community, design and deliver workshops and collect and synthesize data into usable content for the platform development, project marketing, knowledge products and training opportunities.
This activity will positively impact by developing a platform to guide behavioural change and Land use Adaptation and Mitigation Solutions.
