What we did

Our Local and Regional GHG Inventories provide a detailed profile of greenhouse gas emissions within a territory, identifying key sources to develop strategies for emission reduction and climate change mitigation. A significant project is the GHG Inventory for the municipality of Santo André, initiated in 2023 and completed in 2024 with the support of MRV. This inventory quantifies GHG emissions and removals across various sectors, following the methodology recommended by the Global Protocol for Community-Scale Greenhouse Gas Emission Inventories (GPC Protocol for Cities).

The GHG Inventory equips local governments with crucial data to understand their environmental impact and implement effective climate action plans. MRV's support has been vital in ensuring the accuracy and comprehensiveness of this inventory, enhancing Santo André's capacity to address climate change sustainably.
